Charlie Hardwick

Grumpy Old Women’s occasional contributor, Charlie Hardwick, is known for her role as Val Pollard in a British soap opera entitled ‘Emmerdale.’ The soap focuses on a farm, family, and village characters. She won the Best Comedy Performance in such a role. Hardwick never expected that her role as Val would become famous and that viewers would love it. Born in North Tyneside, Hardwick has a brother, Ronnie, and a sister, Elaine. She also has a son, Ryan, who goes horseback riding despite his disability. She starred in the movie ‘Purely Beltler,’ about two people who attempt to acquire money by any means. In 1998, she won the best actress award for her role in the movie ‘The Scar,’ which tells about a community in crisis. She also played the character of Sian in the television series, ‘Byker Grove.’ The series, which was created by Adele Rose, was aired between 1989 and 2006. She is also a fan of the football club, Newcastle United. She starred in the third series of ‘Grumpy Old Women.’

‘Grumpy Old Women’ is a television series about a group of women who discuss their frustrations with life. The show began as a Christmas special, but was so popular that it spawned a book, a regular series, and a stage show. She also appeared in the movie, ‘Billy Elliot’ and her stage career has continued to flourish through the movies she makes.
